 SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER APRIL 11

Prayer of the week
Almighty God,
whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life
of all who put their trust in him:
raise us, we pray, from the death of sin
to the life of righteousness;
that we may ever seek the things which are above,
where he reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

Prayer of the day
Risen Christ,
whose absence leaves us in despair
but whose presence is overwhelming:
breathe on us with your abundant life,
that where we cannot see
we may have courage to believe
that we may be raised with you.  Amen.

THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER APRIL 18
Prayer of the week
Gracious Father,
who in your great mercy made glad the disciples
with the sight of the risen Lord:
give us such awareness of his presence with us
that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life,
and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Prayer of the day
Lord of life,
by submitting to death, you conquered the grave;
by being lifted upon the cross, you draw all peoples to you;
by being raised from the dead,
you restore to humanity all that was lost through sin:
be with us in your risen power,
that in word and deed we may proclaim
the marvellous mystery of death and resurrection.
For all praise is yours, now and throughout eternity.  Amen.

Prayer for a Pandemic
– Author Unknown (edited)
Lord,
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May those of us who have no risk factors
Remember those who are most vulnerable.
May those who have the luxury of working from home
Respect and support those who must choose between
Preserving their health and paying their rent.
May we who have flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those who have no place to go.
May we who are losing our investments
Remember those who have no money to invest.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
During this time when we cannot wrap our arms around each other physically,
Help us each to find ways to be your loving embrace to our neighbours.
Amen
