Christmas Message to the Parish

On behalf of your parish leadership, I wish you all good things for this season.  Good holidays, whether you are going away or enjoying being at home, times of rest, and a break from work, if you are privileged to have work as well as the opportunity to take leave, and time to spend with friends and family if you are blessed with them!  These things are good and holy.

Make time to reflect with gratitude on our blessings, and also to be reminded that God is ruler of the universe, the giver of all good things!

And, especially take time once again to celebrate the birth of Jesus meaningfully (and not with neurotic worrying about whether the Christmas meal will be "just perfect").
We thank you for the great welcome given to our family.  I resisted the term "warm welcome" though it was certainly that too!  Six months ago, we had recently departed Cyprus, unsure when our Visas would be granted.  Three months ago, we were waiting in South Africa with family and friends... and on the New Year weekend coming up, we will have been here 3 months already!  Our container will probably be delivered next week, which we anticipate with excitement.  In January, we shall mostly be "quietly around" but have the opportunity to join friends in Victoria for a week, continuing to discover things in our beautiful new land.  We look forward to continuing to settle, to knowing one another, and in the process to share life and faith in the name of Jesus.
Joined by Julia, Hannah and Joshua,
This comes with love and appreciation from your Rector, Nic.
